Information

Rakugo is a traditional Japanese folk entertainment where a single performer tells a story with a humorous ending while sitting on a cushion called a zabuton. The stories consist of conversations with a single performer playing several characters and using hands, upper body and facial expressions to illustrate the action. Rakugo stories reflect Japanese culture and society of the 18th century.
