2010 March Meeting

The Invitation to Sojiji Temple
Zazen & Special Zen Cuisine

Picture Album

Dear Minami Circle Ladies,

Thank you very much for joining March Meeting. How was your first experience
of (practicing) the meditation?
Could you manage to do? My body was swaying and I could not practice
the meditation very well for the first time. Today was my third time and I could
do it better. But everybody seemed to me to do it well even for the first time.

We sometime need quiet time to sit still and concentrate our minds for a while
in order to calm our mind, as we have been spending busy life. You must have
enjoyed a very witty lecture Reverend Issho Fujita gave us in fluent English.
He also enjoyed himself a lot more, who was surrounded by many beautiful
Minami Circle ladies. (Right?)

How did you like Shojin Cuisine Lunch? To my surprise, no one left over the food.
We had a nice guided tour of the temple and learned about the part of Zen training
monks’ life as well.

We all, in charge of this event, appreciate your assistance.
And thank you once again.

With best regards,

Minako Iezaki
Leader of Zazen & Shojin Cuisine Group

Information

Have you ever tried Zazen (the meditation) and tasted Shojin Cuisine at a temple? We are planning to visit Soji-ji temple to experience the meditation and taste the Shojin Cuisine. In Zen Buddhism Zazen is a meditative discipline practioners perform to calm the body and the mind. Shojin Cuisine prohibits eating meat and fish, especially vegetables and soy beans are the main ingredients.
