Invitation to Washi Craft Workshop

February Meeting 2009

Washi Craft Greeting Cards

Date: Friday, February 6th
Place: Yokohama-shi Shakai Fukushi Center

A large group of us came together to make greeting cards using beautiful Japanese washi paper. Everyone got to choose the packet of their choice containing colorful sets of materials to make three different greeting cards.

Ms.Marieke de Waard, a returning Minami Circle member of many years, lead us in the directions to make the cards. All of us tried our best to follow her! Even though the materials were similar, there were many creative and unique cards beautifully created. I'm so proud of mine that I don't know if I'll be able to actually give them away!

I think many of us were so inspired by this experience that we will surely make more of them on our own. Thanks again Minami Circle!
