and Koto Music

An Invitation to the October Meeting

Slide Fashion Show
at Y150" YUME Project"

Designer Miyo Nakamura found her passion for recycling Kimonos in 1962 out of the need to extend the life of these beautiful dresses. In addition to saving these treasures Miyo Nakamura is also an experienced instructor in the art of flower arrangement and the tea ceremony.

Tonfu is an organic sound conceived by Rin Nakashima, a koto player. Using traditional Japanese music as her base, she creates a sound that is artistic and relaxing by bringing in the acoustic guitar, piano, and percussion instruments. Making full use of the warm afterglow and verve of classical instruments, she produces a new world of music.
