Hina-matsuri(Girls’ Festival) was originally held in the hope that their daughters will grow up in peace.
Girls’ parents decorate hina dolls set in their home on March 3rd. Katsuura executive committee is collecting dolls that are no longer wanted to recycle them. About 20,000 hina dolls are displayed in various places in Katsuura city, primarily in the Katsuura Civic Hall.
Especially impressive are the dolls lining the 60 stone steps in precincts of the Tomi-misaki shrine.
Minami-Boso area in Ciba Pref. has a mild ocean climate, warm even in winter due to the warm Kuroshio Current running. A variety of flowers come into bloom from late December though to late March.
You can enjoy picking flowers in the flower garden.
