Dear Katagiri-san,
I think about you and the other members of Minami Circle so many times. I was so sorry I could not come to the reunion. I'm sure it was very successful, and that there will be a story about it in the next News Letter.
Enclosed is an article from our local newspaper. Did you watch the program ?@It was on TV and broadcast all over the world. She is very beautiful and very tall for a Japanese-5 feet 9 inches. She was very graceful and we were happy that a Japanese won.
The crown that she was given is made from diamonds and MIKIMOTO pearls. It is very beautiful and the pearls are very large. It is a very expensive crown.
I'm sure she will be a very popular "Miss Universe ".
Dear Ann-san,
Thank you for your message to Minami Circle.
I was on the 30th Anniversary Staff and was pleased that we could share joy with 18 old members from abroad. Everybody enjoyed beautiful Spring and 30th Anniversary Events!
Yes, we, Japanese are also very proud of Miss Mori for being a splendid Miss Universe. I was so surprised to know Japanese women have gotten such honorable prizes continuously . (last year Miss Clara Chianti was crowned Second in the contest.)
I hear that she is a very hard worker and that she has never given up her dream. She herself was sure that she would be the first. She has a positive view of life and as you know, the way of her speaking is very stately. So she gives us a hope that Japanese women will soon rise to the global level, not only with the appearance but also with the way of speaking in the public.
Here is her Website.
Please read her diary, and you can touch her personality. And as for Minami Circle ladies, I am sure most of us are such active women like her.
Please keep in touch.
With best regards,
Minako Iezaki
